Over the past several years, a number of my readers have asked me why they had to pay a lot extra to get an ebook if they already owned a paper copy of that same book.
Now, if you’re one of them, you have an option. My publisher, Tor, has worked out an arrangement with Shefie. If you own my books in print, you can get the ebook too for $2.99 from Shelfie and Tor, my publisher. Shelfie is a free smartphone app (shelfie.com) that gives readers a special deal on ebooks when they own the book in print. It does require a smartphone or the equivalent, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
Shelfie is free and easy to use [at least for those digitally/mobilely connected]. Find the app on the Apple App Store, Google Play, or at shelfie.com.
Also, if you’re so inclined, you can use Shelfie to connect with other readers too or to discover new reads by exploring shelfies — photos of real bookshelves — taken by other avid readers.
